BIGOTS WANT TO SAY NIGGER, BUT SINCE THEY CAN'T, IT'S "SOCIALIST", "NAZI", "SECRET MUSLIM", "USA HATER"
The final “New Rule” of Bill Maher'stonight (February 17, 2012) is how I have felt (and then some) all along.(You can watch the episode online as soon as they post it, if you subscribe to HBO.) Remember when one of the Dixie Chicks, Natalie Maines, during a London concert ten days before the 2003 invasion of Iraq said "we don't want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States (George W. Bush) is from Texas"?The response was by many that it was awful, disrespectful, even treason.
The "disrespect" given blatantly to President Obama by politicians and others behind his back and to his face are rooted in bigotry in my opinion.He is a "socialist", a "nazi", "he hates religion and/or the USA", and on and on.I believe this “branding” of him is because "they" feel that the word they’d rather use, “nigger”, can't be used openly.The lady in an online "Town Meeting”, who he offered to help her husband with a job, followed this up with suggesting to the President that he stand and do a "jig" was over the line.Who uses the word “jig” nowadays? He responded by politely delivering the line, “No, there will be no dancing”. Entertainer Al Jolson, who liked to entertain in black face did jigs. He was an entertainer. Many want to put President Obama “in his place” - the back of the bus, strip him of his voting rights, put him in prison, send him to Kenya, etc. An entertainer, a sportsman, a second class citizen – all things black people’s can be and be kept in their proper places,but certainly not be treated like the President of the United States of America.
If Jeremiah Wright had suggested this week that women put an aspirin between their legs for birth control as Foster Friess, a major donor to the super PAC backing Rick Santorum, said, I believe the Republicans and their pundit representatives would have spun it into something that pushed Obama into being Satan or something at least like “Well, you know those Kenyans just have no couth, they are crass.”Rep. Wilson yelling "liar" to Obama when he addressed the nation and Congress and Arizona Governor Jan Brewer sticking her finger in his face would not have been acceptable behavior to a white Republican President. Republican Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell’s statement, “Making Obama a one-term President is my single most important political goal” is at minimum a political goal with no respect for the voters who put President Obama into the highest office of the nation.Fixing our people’s problems hasn’t had McConnell’s attention.
There is an element in the country who can’t cope with a black man in the White House.It turns their stomachs.It is all about race.Not about a birth certificate, being a secret muslim, etc.Are there good and bad bigots?Not in my mind.And yet they have become "acceptable" in that it has been commonplace to hear this rhetoric starting when Barack Obama decided to run for President.And we have accepted it by the fact of not having leaders shut it down, but actually riding on bigotry’s coat tails.The courage for our politicians to let it continue and swell comes from their vein of constituents who tell them they don’t want a black man as our President.(I look forward to a book from the President after he leaves office in his second term.I hope he is brutally honest.But I suppose he won’t be able to tell us of all the death threats accompanied with racists comments to him and his family, as he will have to protect his family’s safety.)
I am not happy with President Obama when it comes to some issues, but it doesn't mean that I take license to step into the land of bigots.

Sarah Palin criticized Barack Obama for not using the word VICTORY about the Iraq war at the VP "debate". In the discussion below, "victory" in Iraq is deemed irrelevant when we have a national economic "slow down" such as the one where hundreds of billions of dollars are going to corporate businesses to bail out Mr. and Mrs. Middle Class.

With no fanfare and little notice, the national debt has grown by more than $4 trillion during George W. Bush’s presidency.
It’s the biggest increase under any president in U.S history.
On the day President Bush took office, the national debt stood at $5.727 trillion. The latest number from the Treasury Department shows the national debt now stands at more than $9.849 trillion. That’s a 71.9 percent increase on Mr. Bush’s watch.
The bailout plan now pending in Congress could add hundreds of billions of dollars to the national debt – though President Bush said this morning he expects that over time, “much if not all” of the bailout money “will be paid back.”
But the government is taking no chances. Buried deep in the hundred pages of bailout legislation is a provision that would raise the statutory ceiling on the national debt to $11.315 trillion. It’ll be the 7th time the debt limit has been raised during this administration. In fact it was just two months ago, on July 30, that President Bush signed the Housing and Economic Recovery Act, which contained a provision raising the debt ceiling to $10.615 trillion.
Deputy Press Secretary Tony Fratto declined an invitation to comment on the enormous jump in the national debt during Mr. Bush’s presidency. He referred me to OMB – the Office of Management and Budget, which tried to make the case that as a percentage of the economy, the national debt is not that big.
In its budget documents in February, OMB estimated that next year’s national debt would hit $10.4 trillion – which it said would amount to 69.3 percent of the gross domestic product – the standard measure of the size of the economy.
That’s high – but far from an all-time high. After World War II, the national debt soared to over $270 billion – a quaint figure by today’s standards. Numerically, it’s less than the amount of federal deficit we now run up in a single year. But back in 1946, the Debt amounted to 121.7 percent of the size of the total economy.
By the time Richard Nixon began his second term in 1973, the national debt had grown to $466 billion – though as percentage of GDP, it had fallen to 35.7 percent.
Today, OMB press secretary Corinne Hirsch, renewed the oft-made government argument that reporters should focus on just that part of the national debt that is held by the public – now about $5.6 trillion and not include that portion billed as “intra-governmental holdings” – money the government owes itself – especially the Social Security and Medicare trust funds.
Of course, the government doesn’t have that money either. It’s been spent.
President Bush made that point himself on April 5, 2005, when he paid a visit to the offices of the Bureau of the Public Debt in Parkersburg, W.Va.
He was shown a white file cabinet with keypad locks on each of its four drawers in which the Social Security Trust Fund is stored. On that day, there was no cash – as he noted in a speech later in the day.
“There is no 'trust fund,' just IOUs that I saw firsthand, that future generations will pay – will pay for either in higher taxes, or reduced benefits, or cuts to other critical government programs,” he told an audience at West Virginia University.
The government didn’t have the money it owed itself back then – and still doesn’t.
A couple of weeks after he took office, President Bush addressed the Republican Congressional Retreat in Williamsburg and declared that his budget “pays down the national debt.”
In recent years, President Bush almost never mentions the national debt.

The estimated population of the United States is 304,855,041 so each citizen's share of this debt is $33,321.90.

Honestly, I am disappointed to put it mildly at the "bill" that we have to pay for. And if we thought $700 Billion was the figure, we are wrong. The Senate added $140 Billion pork to it and it totals so far at $840 Billion. And last week, $25 Billion went to Ford, GM and Chrysler - read it here www.usnews.com
I heard today that the $840 Billion bailout will eventually be turning into $2 Trillion.
I called my U.S. RI Representative this morning to share my feelings with the pork and the bailout. But it's a done deal now.
If Osama bin Laden wanted the USA to cause collapse of our own economy with the planes crashing into buildings via the USA reaction - then you could say the surge in Iraq isn't working. You know, do this terrorrist act, knowing the USA would want to flex its power by bulging its military might, go to war, spend so much money that they have to borrow billions of dollars, therefore going into debt. The spending mentality of the USA being known by bin Laden - knew that eventually the US Americans would damage themselves by weakening the economy from within and bin Laden can just watch the economic decay unfold. This point was made by Garry Shandling, October 3 on Real Time with Bill Maher.
The cost of the Iraq war is ever increasing and you can see it on my sidebar.
We need to stop being reactionaries to what happens and start planning ahead. But we instead as a nation have our heads somewhere else besides sitting tall on our shoulders.
I began wanting to be positive in this post. But I have to say I am disappointed in the bill that was rammed through Congress even though I think We The People made it known that we are not happy with this bill. And yes, my candidate decided to vote for the bill. I am still for Barack Obama and Joe Biden, but I am not happy with this idiotic bill.
John McCain and Sarah Palin are not the right candidates for the country.
We are crashing and burning. And Osama bin Laden must be feeling really happy that we are.
And this idea that we have to have Victory in Iraq according to some unknown standard while we are failing within our borders is bordering on insanity.
Okay, now for the positive thoughts.
As I introduced Senator John Kerry at the Newport Obama Office this last March, I stated that John Kerry was a man of integrity. And that he brought us Barack Obama. And for that we are grateful. I still am satisfied with the Democratic Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates that we have running. Goodness knows, that to have to walk into this national state of a mess requires brains, a calm demeanor and someone who is comfortable in his own skin.
When I volunteered in January in New Hampshire for the Obama campaign, my belief was that We The People must get engaged in our country and our government. A candidate cannot deliver what we do not get behind and actively support. This is what I believe Barack Obama also believes. I took this from the top of his website:
We get the government we deserve. We ARE the oversight to our government. And it will not change unless we change and get out of our apathetic attention to what our elected politicians are doing and get involved, engaged. It is time. The revolution needs to be that we get involved.

Sarah Palin is not a smart choice for Vice President. She majored in journalism in college. She is unknown to the country. And in two months we can vote for her to be second in line to be our President. I heard someone today say that he thinks Sarah should be on the top of the Republican ticket.
Why?
If she was black, surely the Republicans would be saying she lacks experience. If Sarah was black, surely her having five children would be questioned. You know, is she on welfare? Her youngest child was born April 18, 2008. If Sarah was black, there would be a much longer list of negatives and questions being slung toward the fan.

Palin Derangement Syndrome fever

She's the pro-life moose hunter, the former beauty-pageant contestant who would be the next US vice-president.
Less than a week since being announced by Republican presidential nominee John McCain as his running mate, a media storm has erupted around Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin.
Already intensely caricatured, Mrs. Palin and her family face heavy exposure as the US and international media attempt to fill the vacuum of information about the relatively little-known 44-year-old mother of five.
The most recent revelations surround the announcement that her teenage daughter, Bristol, was pregnant.
The controversy prompted the Los Angeles Times, in a blog, to liken Mrs Palin to Lynne Spears, mother of pop star Britney and actress Jamie Lynn, who became pregnant at 15.
In a statement, Mrs. Palin, who is avowedly pro-life, said Bristol intended to have the baby and would marry the father, Levi Johnston.
Johnston has described himself on his MySpace page as "a f***ing redneck", the New York Post reports. "But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s*** and just f***in' chillin' I guess," the 18-year-old hockey player wrote.
"Ya f --- with me I'll kick [your] ass."
Johnston also wrote: "I don't want kids."
Some US commentators have held up the example of Bristol's teen pregnancy to say Mr McCain had not vetted Mrs Palin and her family circumstances properly before appointing her as his running mate.
Mr McCain reportedly met Mrs Palin only once before offering her the job as vice-presidential nominee.
"A series of disclosures about Governor Sarah Palin, Senator John McCain's choice as running mate, called into question on Monday how thoroughly Mr McCain had examined her background before putting her on the Republican presidential ticket," The New York Times reported.
Much has been written about Mrs Palin's links to the Alaskan Independence Party, a group pushing for a vote on Alaska splitting from the rest of the US and forming an independent nation.
The New York Times said that Mrs Palin "was a member for two years in the 1990s". However, The Associated Press reported that, while Mrs Palin's husband, Todd, had been registered as a member, she had only addressed the party.
Even US actress Lindsay Lohan, often the focus of the media herself, has weighed in about Mrs Palin.
"I've been watching the news all morning, like everyone else - and keep hearing about the issues related to 'teen pregnancy'," Lohan wrote on her blog.
"Well, I think the real problem comes from the fact that we are taking the focus off of getting to know Sarah Palin and her political views, and what she can do to make our country a less destructive place."
Mrs Palin's emergence has also focused attention on Hillary Clinton, who made a historic bid to become the first female presidential nominee before succumbing to Barack Obama.
Senator Clinton, who is now barracking for Senator Obama, has been relatively quiet about Mrs Palin's appointment, other than to say everybody "should all be proud of Governor Sarah Palin's historic nomination".
Ironically, McCain supporters have credited Senator Clinton's efforts with paving the way for Mrs Palin.
"Because of Hillary Clinton's historic run for the presidency and the treatment she received, American women are more highly tuned than ever to recognise and decry sexism in all its forms," said top McCain campaign adviser Carly Fiorina.
But Senator Clinton was "galled" that Mrs Palin might try to capitalise on the impact she made among women voters during the Democratic primaries, The New York Times reported.
The paper predicted Senator Clinton would now play a greater role campaigning for Senator Obama as a result.
Conservative columnists have decried the treatment of Mrs Palin in the press. Conservative blogger Michelle Malkin labelled "attacks" on Mrs Palin as "Palin Derangement Syndrome", and said there was "selective sympathy" for mothers who ran for office.
A blog, Palin Sexism Watch, has also started "to monitor, and round up, the sexist treatment given to Republican VP nominee, Sarah Palin".
FOXNews reported the top 10 words used by the media to describe Mrs Palin were: "conservative (49 per cent), abortion (44 per cent), brother-in-law (picking up claims that she improperly tried to get her ex-brother-in-law fired) (17 per cent), corruption and oil (17 per cent), risky or risks or risk (16 per cent), glass ceiling (13 per cent), Quayle (10 per cent), exciting (9 per cent), inexperience or "lack experience" or "limited experience" (8 per cent), and bold (8 per cent)".
Meanwhile, the New York magazine has credited Mrs Palin with helping to make politics funny again.
"Last week Jon Stewart addressed the issue of whether Obama and McCain were giving enough material to comedians ... Well, now that we've got a former-beauty-pageant-contestant vice-presidential candidate who was a small-town mayor three years ago, and who has a pregnant, unmarried 17-year-old daughter, do we all know what's funny?"
In a satirical vox-pop about Mrs Palin's nomination on humorous news site The Onion, everyday American "Scott Wise", a line cook, said: "Finally, somebody who can pull in the Alaskan/pro-life/moose-hunting/woman vote."
The Palin children's names are Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig, who was born in April 2008.

Soon after, he returned to Chicago to practice as a civil rights lawyer and teach constitutional law.

President Bush has openly said repeatedly that he makes decisions and is never doubtful that he may have been wrong. I just had a house guest for the weekend from Australia but she is living in Washington, D.C. as her husband is stationed in D.C. He is an officer in the Australian Army. As someone who works toward ending the genocide in Darfur, it is particularly interesting to me that he served in Rwanda in 1995, still a time of slaughter in Rwanda. She and I talked about Bush. It is always healthy to learn how others see our President. Admittedly I think Bush has not been a good President for the US. But the fact that how I see President Bush is quite the same as my house guest sees Mr. Bush tells me that his behavior translates clearly to other parts of the world in the same way that he translates in my mind. As I traveled Europe in 2005, I found the same true. And this was the first European trip that I have ever been treated with obvious disdain in Italy. Italy is a part of the USA coalition in Iraq, but the Italian people didn't choose to be a part of the coalition. Just their government did. While in my area at the Naval War College, a Greek military officer also shared with me his views of our President. As he said, he likes the American people, but separates our government's actions from us. He also said that "good sense" is often bypassed in the US military mode of operating.
As a part of the world, the US would be wise to care about the way we are viewed by other nation's and their people. We don't have to let it dictate our every governmental foreign policy but it would help us maneuver through our foreign relations. As is true in Iraq, the solution is not so much going to be achieved militarily, but through diplomacy in the world of governments and politics. And during the Bush administration days, diplomacy has been a foreign language that we can't speak. ...................................................

If George Bush Is Our Leader Where Is He Leading Us?
What Constitution precisely did George Bush put his traitorous hand on the Bible to swear to uphold and protect?I think I must be angry.
This American government’s administration that we now have representing us to the rest of the world is corrupt and morally bankrupt.And the United States of America is financially bankrupt.Do we really think our taxes won’t have to astronomically and necessarily be raised to pay for this Iraq war that George led us like lemmings into?George won’t do it.He isn’t responsible.We have no idea how in debt we are. George acts like it is not a concern.And we have no idea how affected the soldiers and families of our soldiers are from this disaster – the Iraq war - that Rumsfeld kept asking us if we would rather fight this fight here or there.

As many as 1 of every 10 soldiers from the war on terror evacuated to the Army's biggest hospital in Europe was sent there for mental problems.
Between 8 and 10 percent of nearly 12,000 soldiers from the war on terror, mostly from Iraq, treated at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany had "psychiatric or behavioral health issues," according to the commander of the hospital, Col. Rhonda Cornum.
That means about 1,000 soldiers were evacuated for mental problems.
The hospital has treated 11,754 soldiers from the war on terror, with 9,651 from Iraq and the rest from Afghanistan, according to data released by the hospital.”

I have been repressing my distaste and repulsion for George Bush for so long that it makes me want to burst out in raw truth.Not that kind of truth that has to cloak itself in polite and cloudy language, but truth that comes from just saying it like I feel it.We need to beware of the metaphorical dog that might bite us in our pretentious mentality and behind.
When war is the answer, what was the question?

War is big business.The United States of America is one of biggest suppliers of weapons around the world to so-called stable governments, but also to unstable governments.Do we really want peace?It would put a lot of people out of business. Hypocrisy.
It’s on the same plane of hypocrisy as saying we care about poor people then want to pay wages below a reasonable amount that won’t allow people to live with the bare necessities.We say we don’t want the Mexican immigrants to be in our country.We are building a fence between Mexico and U.S.A. so that the unwanted Mexicans theoretically will be kept out of our country.But then we love the wages that the Mexicans will put up with. It’s “slavery” in a different form – using people who will take our bad treatment because they feel they have no way to support their families.They can't question their rights being possibly violated because they are enslaved by the fear of what we as a country can do to them, therefore the welfare of their children.
Most of the clothes on our racks come from under-developed countries where sweat shops afford us our low prices on clothing.Do we really want to know the conditions our clothing is made in?Do we really care if a child sits for 18 hours a day at 6 years old weaving an oriental rug for us to buy and walk on in our homes?
If the short term result of changing our ways to address global environmental effects means we would have to adjust our daily habitual ways and some corporations would not make the profits they are accustomed to – would we just choose the apathetic route of staying the course?
We would want someone treating us with more thoughtful, wise and compassionate acts than we are and have been for a long time.
So, let’s stop and think.Let’s stop pretending who we are and face ourselves in the behavioral mirror.Let’s find truth buried under our hypocrisy.Let’s wake up and be alive.Staying in the status quo while spewing hyperboles of our values and honor is just the lazy man’s way.Mr. Bush.And the rest of us, too.We the People put him in the position of power and of being our leader.And by default, the leader of the world - until some other country bypasses our pretentious power base, likeChina and claims the title of “World Power”.

Okay so I didn’t vote for George Bush.And I admit a little guiltily that I loathe him as our leader.But there he is.Chest puffed out.Inarticulate.Lame-brained.By all accounts, unabashed by his failures, maybe even ignorant of them.But this is a democracy.No one told us, as a country of “we the people” that he had to be our dictator.It’s sad.Just painfully sad - that we can get it so wrong with all we constitutionally had handed to us.
“We the People” need to take back our empowerment, take back our government and pressure our leaders to be the kind of representational government that we pretend we are.

I love my life. I love where I live. And I am passionate about my passions. I love to dance. Necessary to live: music, piano, singing, writing, acting, painting.
I have been fighting for and supporting the arts all my adult life. Since 2004, I have been working with other activists to end the Darfur genocide.
I have traveled to Europe many times since my early twenties. Places I have been: many USA states including Hawaii, Montreal, Canada, Barbados, France, Spain, Luxembourg, England, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Germany - and have wonderful memories.
My last trip was in May - June 2013 to Spain.
I would like to travel to Europe and Kyoto, Japan.
I love the southwest where I have visited Hopi, Navajo, Zia and San Idlefonso potters.
Life is exciting and I intend to live it full-out to the end.
