LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING SUNG BY NICK LITTLEFIELD

HEAVENLY CAUSES NEED THEIR CHAMPIONS

The song The Impossible Dream was sung beautifully by Brian Stokes Mitchell Friday night at Ted Kennedy's memorial service. The sound had some technical difficulties. Here is another time Mr. Mitchell sang The Impossible Dream.

It was good for my soul to watch the memorial and funeral services.

A comment

Vitriol appears all over the internet. Those who leave their vitriolic words in comments show what they carry around with them on the inside. Those comments are deleted here. This blog is not a place of any speech is okay place. Freedom of speech isn't a given here. Disagreement with me is not the issue. But, comments of disagreement are required to be delivered here with a sense of respect. I figure if you want the freedom to say anything you want in any way you want, you can create your own blog to do what ever you want. Here, this is like my home. You are a guest here.

There are those who love to hate. Love to drop their anger here and there. Love to put on the outside what they have on the inside. And it doesn't take too many words to show what kind of life is going on inside. There are plenty of places on the internet for them to find their soul mates. It just isn't here.

Lyrics to The Impossible Dream

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go

To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far

To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star.

Rawandan Sisters Tribute
Uploaded by ilovemylifesblog

Since 2005, I have sponsored a sister in Rwanda annually through womenforwomen We exchange pictures of ourselves and letters. The sisters get training in their rights, income-earning skills and ways to improve their families' lives, therefore improving the community, as well. My sisters live without electricity in their homes, without indoor water and oftentimes cannot afford to send their children to school. My sister this year was able to buy a goat and some chickens with the $27 a month that I provide. This has enabled her to send her children to school. This is very satisfying to me because children need to go to school. Many women are raising other women's children because the children's mothers or grandmothers were murdered.

Knowing that the world abandoned the 800,000 to one million Rwandans in 1994 who died in a genocide, I wanted to reach out to the women one-to-one and help them have a bit better lives.

I currently volunteer as a community leader trying to bring the needed attention to the Darfuri people who have had genocide by their own government on-going since 2003. The world has known this and virtually has done nothing.

The paintings in the video are by Sandra Hammel, as are the photos and video. Except for the paintings, everything in the video is of Aquidneck Island where I live. The paintings are done of photographs from Oprah's first televised trip to South Africa.

Original music: "Our Shared Breath".

The photography and video locations: Sachuest Beach and Sachuest Wildlife Refuge, Middletown, Rhode Island. The Cliff Walk, Eastons Beach,
Brenton Cove all in Newport, Rhode Island.

This video is a tribute to my sisters of Rwanda who are an inspiration to me. Whenever I feel my life is not going as I want, I think of their lives, as well as the millions of Darfuri refugees who are trying to survive dire situations in the camps. It puts things in perspective immediately.

This is a tribute to the man Ted Kennedy.

Uploaded by TodaysNetworkNews

Bear with the annoying music at the beginning. You might want to mute it at least until 28 seconds in.

I am learning more and more how Ted Kennedy lived his life. He is the kind of United States citizen that I want the world to know. This is how to use our voices. This is what freedom of speech should rise up and give to the world. One voice is important.

Text that accompanies the video above:
TodaysNetworkNews: 27 August 2009 - Human Rights First: At the 2008 annual dinner, Human Rights First honored Senator Kennedy for his unwavering and courageous leadership in advancing human rights at home and abroad.

"As we mourn his death, we would like to share this tribute to his life and work." said Human Rights First spokesperson.

HUMAN RIGHTS FIRST believes that building respect for human rights and the rule of law will help ensure the dignity to which every individual is entitled and will stem tyranny, extremism, intolerance, and violence. See: http://www.humanrightsfirst.org

RAW PLACES - WHERE I FEEL THE MOST - WHERE I LIVE MOST OF THE TIME

Every once in awhile I listen and watch this video.
It never fails to bring some balance to the present moment.
.......................................................

.......................................................
Be As You Are - Frederick Perls
Uploaded by davidtheharper

An excerpt from my current journal:

August 15, 2009
1:46 p.m.

RAW PLACES

I'm one of those
who goes to the raw places,
To no destination on someone else's map,
But a place where I feel the most.
I feel the most me.
Nearer to a time-free place,
It's not a place you can see with your eyes,
Yet my eyes show when I'm there.
But only to those who can read eyes.

Raw places, where the hurt is always fresh,
pain is ageless.
Raw places where the moments of wholeness
are as alive as the moment it showed up.

Raw places where being real is not only okay,
but welcome.

You can't come to the raw places,
if you don't show up real.

I only want to be with those
who come to their raw place.

Otherwise, you might as well be dead,
You're just living dead anyway.

Why live dead
when you can live alive?

You can show up whole there and not fear rejection.

You can bring everything and feel free to open it up.
You can feel,
hold it,
be comforted with it.
You can let it unfold,
you can let it envelop you.
...............................................................

...............................................................
The raw place is the altar of your soul.
It's where I go
when I need to feel alive.
It's where I live most of the time.
It's where I want to be
because it's where I feel real.

It's where the universe integrates with my spirit,
my soul.
It's where I find refuge in myself.

All those who try so hard
to never go to their raw place,
live with a soul that's always hungry,
starving 'til mortal death moves them through.

Those who want to go there
but don't know the way,
find people like me
and get their soul nourished
by living off my willingness to live raw.

I am pulled toward other souls
who want to be fearless,
who are willing to open up to all that is.

"Just You and I"

Sung by Melissa Manchester

Lyrics

When your heroes go up in a puff,
There's not enough to hang on to
And the ones you would count on to call
They all fall down all around you

Then you've got to believe there's more
It is the reason, we're put here for
There's just you and I

When the legends over

And we have just begun

We can look to each other

To see us through

Just you and I

When a miracle's long overdue
And there's no one who's gonna come to guide you
So you keep looking up to the sky - wondering why
The clouds won't hide you

At the times when you're most afraid
That is the reason why dreams are made
There’s just you and I

When legends all over

And we have just begun

We can look to each other

To see us through

Just you and I.

At the times when you’re most afraid

That is the reason dreams are made

There’s just you and I

When the legends over

And we have just begun
We can look to each other

To see us through

Just you and I

Just you and I

Mistakes are not sins. Mistakes are ways of doing something different, perhaps creatively new. Friend don't be sorry for your mistakes. be glad for them. You had the courage to give something of yourself. It takes years to be centered; it takes more years to understand and be now."

I wanted to put a portion of the video below in it, but my MAC and imovie wasn't cooperating. So this is the best I could do. I also wanted to put Heath Ledger in it, but it just didn't work out with the length of the song, as well as not blending well with the other two actors that I did use. Well, he would have blended for my way of thinking, but others probably would have been confused.

Ode to Rafa's Arms

I loathe Nike in 2009.

They put sleeves on Rafa. *pump*

Let him wear sleeves on the golf course,

Let him wear sleeves in press conferences,

Let him wear sleeves anywhere,

But not on the tennis court.

Give me Rafa's arms back

Image

If it isn't "broken", don't fix it....

And it wasn't "broken".

And those long tennis Rafa shorts,

the pirate pants ~

were signature-Rafa that said "I'm here".

We love Rafa's spirit, *love3*

We love Rafa's unleashed passion on the court, *clap*

We love his humility everywhere else,

We love his kind heart,

We love his hair,

the *rafabrow*

We love his hands and long bending fingers,

We love the line he cuts running after the swing he's about to make,

We love his eyes that tell us how genuine he is,

We love the sauntering walk of his gait,

We love the shiny wet arms that delight our eyes,

the biceps that quietly make us take notice.

So an unsporting big BOO to Nike,

for stealing the vision we enjoyed so ~

Rafa's bare arms that gave us a show.

It's been a rough year for Rafa fans,

First covering up those wet, *thud*bulging arms of Rafa's, *thud*

Shortening the fabric on his courtly pants,
*thud*

Then having to miss him for months due to knee injury.

Rafa, is it asking too much

to grant us your arms again minus the sleeves

and adding the pants down past your knees?
