WE WERE AT A CROSSROADS A LONG TIME AGO

NOW WE ARE IN A HOLE AND NEED TO STOP THE IGNORANT HAZE WE ARE LIVING IN. We cannot continue the path we are on and expect the results to afford us the status quo in the future. We are on a national policy and governmental mindset that is stagnant, dangerous - and we are in sinking sand. I heard a man speak last year who said that in several years the world stage would not see the USA maintain its number one position of power in the world. But that China will become that position. Our national economy is being funded by loans from guess who? China.
.............................................

.............................................
Is China really the country that we want to be in debt to? It seems preposterous that we would want a country with China's human rights abuses be our bank in essence. But then we have allowed our own country to ignore basic human rights in Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib.

The Patriot Act is frighteningly unconstitutional. The First Amendment states that “CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW……da duh, da duh, da duh… But they did and Bush signed it. Of course Bush ordered it. You are not as free as you think you are.

The Fourth Amendment: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” The Patriot Act removes this Fourth Amendment from our Constitutional Rights.

The Patriot Act

Have you read the Constitution lately? I have a tiny little booklet of it that I picked up at my U.S. Senator Jack Reed’s Cranston office when I lobbied him regarding Darfur May 29, 2007. It sits here at my computer.

The United States of America is not the country that I believe in anymore. We have given the USA haters an arsenal of reasons to detest us. I detest our actions…Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, The Patriot Act. And that’s just for starters.

Every day that George Bush is our President is one more day of me wanting to
a. impeach him and his whole crew,
b. refuse to pay my taxes that support his disastrous government –
it certainly isn’t my government,
c. tell the world that I am sorry.
d. send a message to congress to grow back a backbone, find a moral compass and step up to the plate and give me some reason to not think they are totally useless.

WHAT DAY DID THE CONSTITUTION GET ANNULLED

? The Patriot Act has deleted our constitutional liberties. And there is a silent movement in our social acceptance to give up our valued liberties. Democracy is messy. If you want all the ducks in order you don’t want a democracy. You want a fascist government.

A man’s “house has been surrounded 24 hours a day, seven days a week. His phone is tapped and his internet access and telephone are sometimes blocked… All this for a man who has not been formally charged with any criminal offense.” Though from a feature article of Amnesty International about a human rights activist in China, everything noted here can also be done in the United States of America via the Patriot Act. *

George W Bush swore on the Bible at his two inaugurations that he would preserve the constitution. And yet when he campaigned he wouldn’t allow anyone into his “town meetings” unless he or she was a republican. Bush’s campaign used a manual on how to muffle protestors. Today, I learned that Hillary Clinton does the same in her campaigning and doesn’t allow people in her campaign events if they wear t-shirts with words or symbols on them her handlers want to censor. I don’t want “Free Speech Zones” or “stay away orders” - I want my constitution rights freed and given back to me. Now. Not after some politician tells me I can have them back. Now. I want a voice. China doesn’t allow her citizens a voice. Fascism is alive in China. And it is creeping across the facets of our American daily lives.

On March 23, 1775, Patrick Henry said “Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death” as an ending statement in a speech. ** Perhaps that is too drastic an ideal for us to live up to. However, I feel we need to find a spine and put our First Amendment values back into our lives without reservations. We aren’t safe just because - we give up our freedom of speech or freedom of press rights, or because we give our government the right to search our homes without just cause or a court’s pre-approval, or give the federal government the right to use our emails and blogs to steal our constitutional rights. The Patriot Act gives the government the rights to do all of these.

Fear dictates what liberties we are willing and ready to give away.

ANDREW MEYER was tased today for asking questions on a college campus to John Kerry. He may have been out of order, but he broke no law, until he was told to shut up. Then his crime was to accept his freedom of speech as a sham and not something he had the right to expect. SALLY FIELD was censored by Fox in her Emmy acceptance speech. MEDEA BENJAMIN was removed from Hillary Clinton’s event because she wore a t-shirt about leaving Iraq. Bush has lied to us and broken the law, but he gets pass after pass. And no one is tasing him or censoring him.

The police did not inform him that he was under arrest and did not read him his Miranda rights but used a taser gun to control him”.

Fascism synonyms: repression, oppression, tyranny.

Antonym: democracy.

fas·cism or fas·cism
1. a system of government practiced by Benito Mussolini in Italy between 1922 and 1943 that was characterized by dictatorship, centralized control of private enterprise, repression of opposition, and extreme nationalism

2. any movement, tendency, or ideology that favors dictatorial government, centralized control of private enterprise, repression of all opposition, and extreme nationalism

“The American system of government is founded on two counterbalancing principles: that the majority of the people governs, through democratically elected representatives; and that the power even of a democratic majority must be limited, to ensure individual rights.

Majority power is limited by the Constitution's Bill of Rights, which consists of the original ten amendments ratified in 1791, plus the three post-Civil War amendments (the 13th, 14th and 15th) and the 19th Amendment (women's suffrage), adopted in 1920.

The American Civil Liberties Union, ACLU, mission is to preserve all of these protections and guarantees:

* Your First Amendment rights - freedom of speech, association and assembly; freedom of the press, and freedom of religion.

* Your right to equal protection under the law - equal treatment regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin.

* Your right to due process - fair treatment by the government whenever the loss of your liberty or property is at stake.
* Your right to privacy - freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your personal and private affairs.

We work also to extend rights to segments of our population that have traditionally been denied their rights, including Native Americans and other people of color; lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people; women; mental-health patients; prisoners; people with disabilities; and the poor.

If the rights of society's most vulnerable members are denied, everybody's rights are imperiled.” From: http://aclu.org/about/index.html

The First Amendment to the United States of America’s Constitution is:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” …Except since the Congress gave George Bush sweeping rights to delete the First Amendment rights.

The standard of United States Free Speech is in sinking sand. Repeal the Patriot Act and reinstate the U.S. Constitution.

IMPEACHABLE ACTS - WARNING - WILL BE OFFENSIVE TO BUSH ADMIRERS

IMPEACHABLE ACTS

I'm sorry if this offends you, but it is pretty much just how I feel.

<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<:<

IMPEACHABLE ACTS – CONTEMPT OF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, THE GENEVA CONVENTION, POLITICAL LIES, PERSONAL INDISCRETIONS

I didn’t vote for George Bush for President. I am alarmed by what he has done to our federal deficit, our constitutional rights, our citizens affected by hurricane Katrina, the forgotten U.S. citizens, the very young, the teens, the foster children of our country, the poor and neglected AND what major damage he and his dismal “Mr. Decider” decisions have done to the United States foreign reputation around the planet Earth. And yet, there are people in the U.S.A. who think he is a wonderful President. I have no idea how any one can believe that. But there are those who do. And my family members belong to that group. I just don’t understand the ignorance. I can’t say what I really think of him because taken out of context it would be unwise for me to write here. But having just been introduced to Youtube in the last couple of months, I have had my world broadened. I just found the YouTube included below, even though it is not a new song by Neil Young, it is new to my world. I warn you if you like George Bush, you won’t want to hear what this song has to say. I can’t argue with what the song says, because I believe it is truthful. Something that has not been a part of President George Bush’s intelligentsia. This President makes me cringe and embarrassed. Unfortunately when I went to Europe in November 2005, the treatment that I received as an American was 180 degrees different from all of my previous trips to Europe. I think that matters. I think it matters what others think of us. The fall of Rome didn’t happen overnight, but the fall of the U.S.A. is on its way unless we can wake up to how to command “real” power. It is not by force that we gain and maintain power. But “force” has been the Cowboy’s language since he took office.

Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) stood his ground and joined the twenty-or-so other Republicans that have decided to vote with the House Democrats in favor of a non-binding Iraq resolution that condemns President Bush's troop surge.

Speaking of Bush, Congressman Paul was very straight-forward in his displeasure for Bush's "demented philosophy of conquest." Here is a portion of his floor speech:

RON PAUL: "In recent decades, our policies have been driven by neoconservative empire radicalism; profiteering in the military industrial complex; misplaced do-good internationalism; mercantilistic notions regarding the need to control natural resources; and blind loyalty to various governments in the Middle East."

I find Representative Paul (R) off my mark of someone to support for President, but at least he uses his brain about what he’s trying to express. I give him that. But I think we are due to have a democrat in the Whitehouse to balance out the stuff we've had to endure as a nation and the world with the 8 year regime of the Bush mind. And remember the two Bush Presidents' choices for Vice-President. Poor choices, both of them. I can't cope with 4 more years of republican smallness. We need to think of the soul of our nation and the global ramifications of our leadership, or what shreds are left of it.

Protest music is back with Neil Young's 2006 release, 'Living With War', featuring many great songs/ideas including this one, "Let's Impeach The President". Available in stores, online and on iTunes

Some of the things that this President has as his legacy include the Patriot Act, dismissing the adherence to The Geneva Convention and the undermining of human decency through lacking the manifestation of human and otherwise United States’ principles and Constitution at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib. This President is proof of the Peter Principle.
