In George W Bush's first Inaugural Address he said:
"Much time has passed since Jefferson arrived for his inauguration. The years and changes accumulate. But the themes of this day he would know: our nation's grand story of courage and its simple dream of dignity."

After seeing Alex Gibney's documentary Taxi to the Dark Side today with the free on demand feature, it was clear to me that George W Bush, Richard Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld need to be indicted. It is clear that they are criminals. I knew this before seeing the film, but it is so potent when seeing this documentary film. The three of them, as well as other Bush appointees have broken the U.S. Constitution and the oath they swore to. They have made us the United States citizens amoral bystanders. We have a corrupt government. The world knows it. The United States of America is bankrupt of accountability internationally.

There is no way that the behavior clearly shown in Taxi to the Dark Side wouldn't make the the USA targets of hate. Before the Bush administration, there were other acts done by the USA government that drew distaste and hatred toward the USA, but the Bush-Cheney administration has a case so deservingly merited to be tried in a court of justice somewhere. If not initiated by our apparently morally bankrupt congress, perhaps the International Criminal Court will indict the players. The buck stops at the administration's branch. And Bush and Cheney should not get away with their crimes.

Dennis Kucinich has been calling for Bush's impeachment. And you can sign the petition. Here is the text:

WHEREAS, in his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has committed abuses of power.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that President George W. Bush has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and Commander in Chief, and subversive of constitutional government, to the prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States and that he be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors.

Personally, I believe Congress has been derelict to the extreme in their duty to oversee the Administration's criminal activity. International law (Geneva Convention) has been broken, as well as national law. I would like to see the Intermational Criminal Court (ICC) look into the crimes done by the Administration. According to the text at this ICC link victims "have the possibility under the Statute to present their views and observations before the Court".

Intel ops to expand at Bagram prison

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon plans to expand intelligence operations at its main prison in Afghanistan, records and interviews with military officials show.

Interrogators and analysts are being sought for a bigger Bagram prison scheduled to open next year. They will be hired to question prisoners and provide intelligence that can be used on the battlefield, according to contract solicitations reviewed by USA Today. The Army also is seeking a “trained Mullah” to conduct Islamic services for detainees and advise U.S. officials on religious issues...

“One thing we have not taken advantage of is just trying to understand what is motivating people to join the insurgency,” he said.

The new $60 million facility will also include more space for detainee religious services, education programs and family visits.

Mr. Bush will be forever linked to Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib. Not to mention his lies, Iraq and his choice of people to surround himself with.

When I was a kid, we had a next door neighbor boy who changed the rules when he didn't like how things were going in play. I read somewhere that one of George's cousins said this is how George operated when he was a kid. He hasn't changed. He does the same thing today. Don't like the law that has just been passed? He makes it okay if he doesn't want to follow it.

Current government policy allows foreign nationals to be held in a US military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as "enemy combatants," without charges and with no legal rights. The Supreme Court will hear Bush administration lawyers attempt to defend the indefensible: that the President can hold people indefinitely, without charge and without question. With fundamental human rights principles on the line let's hope the Supreme Court rejects this lawlessness and demands an end to the injustice that flows from it.

A thousand miles from the Supreme Court steps, Amnesty International will be observing another crucial hearing today. This one will take place at Guantánamo Bay and while it will get less press attention, it is no less important.

While the Supreme Court considers whether or not Congress improperly took away the writ of habeas corpus from detainees in Guantánamo, a hearing will be convened to determine whether or not Salim Ahmed Hamdan is an "unlawful enemy combatant" and subject to trial by military commission. Under the Military Commissions Act, "unlawful enemy combatants" cannot challenge the evidence brought before them or object to being convicted on evidence obtained through brutal means.

The two hearings are not unrelated.

Both challenge the administration's attacks on our system of justice. Both challenge the assertion that fear, not freedom, guides our country. But even more important, both hearings present a clear opportunity to move our nation back on track -- to a place of respect for truth, justice and liberty. As four Supreme Court Justices put it, "[I]if this Nation is to remain true to the ideals symbolized by its flag, it must not wield the tools of tyrants even to resist an assault by the forces of tyranny."

Is China really the country that we want to be in debt to? It seems preposterous that we would want a country with China's human rights abuses be our bank in essence. But then we have allowed our own country to ignore basic human rights in Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib.

The Patriot Act is frighteningly unconstitutional. The First Amendment states that “CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW……da duh, da duh, da duh… But they did and Bush signed it. Of course Bush ordered it. You are not as free as you think you are.

The Fourth Amendment: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” The Patriot Act removes this Fourth Amendment from our Constitutional Rights.

Have you read the Constitution lately? I have a tiny little booklet of it that I picked up at my U.S. Senator Jack Reed’s Cranston office when I lobbied him regarding Darfur May 29, 2007. It sits here at my computer.

The United States of America is not the country that I believe in anymore. We have given the USA haters an arsenal of reasons to detest us. I detest our actions…Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, The Patriot Act. And that’s just for starters.

Every day that George Bush is our President is one more day of me wanting to
a. impeach him and his whole crew,
b. refuse to pay my taxes that support his disastrous government –
it certainly isn’t my government,
c. tell the world that I am sorry.
d. send a message to congress to grow back a backbone, find a moral compass and step up to the plate and give me some reason to not think they are totally useless.
