Toni says that Rafa's level won't probably be his best in Montreal, and that the first matches will show his real form, because he has not pushed to hard during practicing.

Toni says that the goal is that Rafa plays at his best at the US OPEN.
He adds that the number 1 ranking is not the main goal, but that Rafa plays well, in good conditions, and gives his maximum. And he adds that then, they will see if Rafa can beat players as Federer, Murray, Djokovic.

Nadal back for Montreal Masters

Rafael Nadal will return to action at next week's Montreal Masters event after a two-month lay off with injury, his coach and uncle Toni Nadal said.

The Spaniard has been suffering from tendinitis in both knees and has not played a competitive match since being knocked out in the fourth round of the French Open by Robin Soderling on May 31.

"Rafa will play in Montreal. It is good news for us," Toni Nadal told Radio Marca.

"It's another thing to know what standard he will be at. I imagine he won't be in very good condition. He has been training but without really pushing it very much

"To see what form he's in we'll have to see how he copes in a proper match."

During his time away from the court, Nadal lost his French Open and Wimbledon titles and his number one ranking to Swiss rival Roger Federer.

In an interview last week, Nadal cast doubts as to whether he would be fit to defend his title in Montreal.

"There is no particular objective at present," Nadal's coach continued. "The challenge is to get back into form and to be in good shape for the US Open."

The US Open starts on August 31.

"I am very disappointed not to be able to compete in Dubai but the doctor has advised me to stay home and rest after the pain on my knee in Rotterdam last week. Nothing to be worried about but it needs some rest. I ask my fans and the tournament organizers to understand and I am sorry for this. Dubai is one of my favorite tournaments and I have always played there. The field is always great and more important the crowds are always supportive. I expect to be back in competition the following week for the Davis Cup tie in Benidorm against Serbia and then traveling to Indian Wells and Miami ."

Nadal not worried about knee injury

MADRID (AFP) Spain's world number one Rafael Nadal said Monday he was not concerned about an injury to his right knee suffered during his loss to Briton Andy Murray in the final of the Rotterdam Open.

"It's muscular fatigue," he said in Madrid. "It's not a pain that concerns me. Really, I feel fine."

Nadal lost 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 to world number four Murray in Rotterdam on Sunday.

The Spaniard suffered the knee problem from the second set and took a treatment break after the third game.

He was loathe to discuss the injury after the match, saying he "tired from the Australian Open... I have to look at the positive. This was a good week for me, especially to reach this final."

THE P-ZAZZZ IN TENNIS IS MISSING

I'M A RAFAEL NADAL FAN....

So I was watching the ATP Masters today with Simon and Djokovich playing in Shanghai in the semi-finals. I am not a Djokovic admirer. Simon though, I find interesting to watch and he's nice to look at. But tennis is not the same without Rafael Nadal for me. So here we are - I am resorting to videos made by Rafa's fans....
