Is it just me, or are some the questions. . . (well, not to be too unclassy) but are some of the questions not too ...um... intelligent?

NADAL WINS OVER DJOKOVIC 6-4 6-4 . . . HIP, HIP HOORAY!!

Growing up as a coach's daughter, I have left-over effects from watching sport and wanting a particular player or team to win. I get very entwined. The emotional roller coaster as a spectator cannot compare with a sport that is a single player v another single player such as in tennis. It must be such a mind game. I was only watching Rafa play Djokovic and I noticed I was deliberately having mind games going on during the match. What must it be like for the person actually with every action on the line?

in the round robin Shanghai tournament!! Depending on some uncontrollable variables, he may be in the semi-finals.

Brutal Nadal powers past Djokovic

Nadal is still not guaranteed a semi-final spot in Shanghai

Rafael Nadal boosted his hopes of reaching the Masters Cup semi-finals with a 6-4 6-4 win over Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic put up a much better fight than in his opening two defeats but the relentless Spaniard was too strong.

Nadal broke once to take the first set and then again at 1-1 in the second to take control.

The world number two must await the result of the last Gold Group match between Richard Gasquet and David Ferrer to see if he will progress.

If Gasquet wins that match by two sets to one, it will leave the Frenchman level with Nadal and Ferrer on points as well as sets won and lost.

Djokovic is the only player definitely out of contention but despite losing all three group matches, he leaves Shanghai with his pride restored.

The 20-year-old put his lacklustre displays in his opening two matches down to mental and physical exhaustion after a breakthrough season, but he seemed determined to go down fighting.

At 3-4 in the second set, Djokovic threw everything at Nadal, earning two break points with some dazzling shot-making.

But Nadal, who lost in three sets to fellow Spaniard Ferrer in his last match, eventually ground down his opponent and Djokovic was unable to muster a recovery.

BUT, he still has a chance as it is a round robin tournament.

Nadal, whose defeat came a day after world No1 Roger Federer lost his opener in Shanghai, must now beat Serbia's Novak Djokovic in his final Gold Group match to advance.

"David is playing with unbelievable confidence and moving unbelievable - just crazy," said Nadal after losing to his close friend.

"No excuse. This is the toughest tournament of the year. Anything can happen. I didn't play a bad match. I played well. He played better."

I set my alarm for 6:30 a.m. EST in the USA after having only four hours of sleep to watch Rafael and David. What a match! I thought they both were brilliant. Of course, Rafa was a bit more brilliant on the front end and David on the back end... but it was brilliant tennis. It is just the outcome that is disappointing for Rafa. I empathize for Rafa. He is such a champion, not just on the court with his talent, not just as a professional tennis player...all you have to do is do a little bit of research online and at places like Youtube to see how he inspires, triggers our own passions and emotions, opens us up to our humanity and makes us proud to be a part of the human race. His passion ignites us.

He truly is a champion worthy of the word. He epitomizes grace ... just listening to this young man and watching how he "carries" himself with his fans, the interviewers when they asked nonsensical questions at times, how he is with his family, how he receives his adulation with such modesty. He treats others with such respect and reverence. For such a young man, he gives me such hope and joy watching him. Of course, I want him to win. One reason I want this is because he wants to win. And I want what will make him happy. I am just in the “presence” of something special that his parents named Rafa.

The Introduction to The Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai
It is the ATP circuit's season-ending championships.
Consisting of the world's top eight players based on the 2007 ATP Race, the stars going head-to-head in the final tournament of the season. It is taking place right now in Shanghai, China.

The players are split into two groups of four and compete in a round robin format, with the top two players in each group after the round robin matches going through to the semifinals.
