BEYOND THE HYPE, SOILED POLITICS AND BITES

I am working as a volunteer with Barack Obama’s Presidential campaign. As a Rhode Island registered voter, I am working to gather the signatures required to put Senator Obama on the Rhode Island March Primary ballot. But also, I will be working in New Hampshire, the 2nd caucus of primary season. After the January 3rd caucus in Iowa, from January 4 – 8, I will be working in Derry, New Hampshire with the Obama Campaign. How exciting! I have never worked with any campaign before in my life. And this will be a great experience for me. Yes, Oprah will be in Iowa and New Hampshire this weekend with Barack, December 8 and 9, but the days immediately before the New Hampshire primary will be unmatched for potential excitement and momentum. I’ll be taking my cameras and posting when I get a chance. They tell me that I will get no sleep. I’ll see.

The message of the above youtube is that Barack Obama and John Edwards are better candidates for President than Hillary Clinton. Although, I believe the Democrats have a very good overall selection this time ~ I support Barack for our next President.

Darfur Funding Needed Now! Call Congress.

This week, Congress is making important decisions on funding for the peacekeeping mission in Darfur (UNAMID). The quick deployment of peacekeepers to Darfur depends on American support. Call 1-800-GENOCIDE and ask your Representative to fully fund the UN Peacekeeping mission for Darfur. Concerned citizens around the country are participating in a National Call-In Week to ensure that our representatives appropriate adequate funds for peacekeeping. Tell your Representative to support UNAMID by appropriating the necessary funds. Call 1-800 GENOCIDE this week. TALKING POINTS: The United States championed the peacekeeping force at the UN Security Council. This peacekeeping mission needs money immediately. To ensure its success, it is imperative that we pay our share of the mission's costs now. Congress must maintain the current funding levels in the 2008 budget and provide the additional $724 million needed to put peacekeepers on the ground in Darfur. They complain that the numbers of Darfuris that are said to be killed are inflated. They want to say that we are basically saying untruths about Darfur. But try searching online to listen to what the Darfuri people are saying. And some journalists (as well as the Sudanese goverment) would like to spread negative statements about the activists, like myself, who urge the country and the international community to step up and do what it takes to end the crisis. But I ask you, to think about why a journalist finds it more important to report negative stuff about us and undermine the stories of the Darfuri people. I wish the African Union stories would get published that they have been collecting from the Darfuri people. Many say that the Darfur genocide is a hoax presented by Jewish people. I am not Jewish.
