The wild card Spanish pairing of Marc Lopez and Rafael Nadal stunned the world No 1 ranked Canadian-Serbian duo of Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 (8) in the men's doubles final of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open tennis tournament at the Khalifa International tennis complex yesterday.

Nestor and Zimonjic, the 2008 ATP World Tour champions, who were bidding for their eighth team title and their first in Doha had their dreams dashed against the inspired Spanish pair in the 87-minute match.

In their route to the final, while Nestor and Zimonjic edged out the American-Romanian pair of James Cerretani and Victor Hanescu 6-1, 6-7 (8), 10-3, Lopez and Nadal rallied to defeat the French-Russian duo of Fabrice Santoro and Mikhail Youzhny 1-6, 7-6 (2), 11-9.

Murray the Champ in Doha

Andy Murray on Saturday won the Qatar Open title following a straight-set demolition of fourth seed Andy Roddick of the US in the final of the season's first tournament.

Murray, playing in his 14th career final, won 6-4, 6-2 in only 70 minutes for his second successive title triumph in Doha. Read more
