ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT "THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS" ISN'T OPENING WIDE IN THE USA? IT IS HEATH LEDGER'S FINAL FILM OF HIS LIFE

For Heath

i carry your heart with me
(i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it
(anywhere i go you go, my dear;
and whatever is done by only me
is your doing, my darling)

i fear no fate
(for you are my fate, my sweet)
i want no world
(for beautiful you are my world, my true)

and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud

and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher
than the soul can hope
or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart
(i carry it in my heart)

SONY PICTURES needs to hear from you
that you want Heath's final film to be opened nationwide.

Suggestions of ways you can do this are below.

It is not good enough that it is released
only in Los Angeles and New York City.

We, who adore Heath's work -
and we are many -
want it in our local theatres.

Help us get The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus in our local theatres in the USA. It is our last chance to see Heath on screen in a new film. Don't let us be left out.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Today, I participated in the chat room on the grassroots
support website of The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus. Next Tuesday, December 8, Theresa, administrator from this site, will be having access to everyone at the Australians in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship event with two cameras in hand, which also will be a screening of the Dr Parnassus film. This is the first time that anyone has had access to this event that was described by Theresa as an "intimate" event. And I learned that Dr Parnassus is opening in Germany Jan 7, 2010.

You will find the donations link in the left hand side bar. CLICK HERE TO DONATE TO OR LEARN MORE ABOUT THE HEATH LEDGER SCHOLARSHIP.

This is such a wonderful way to remember Heath and support the craft he loved so much and accomplished so well. And, remember that The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus will screen this Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Montalban Theater in support of the Australians In Film Heath Ledger Scholarship for an invitees list of A List actors from both the USA and Australia.

and read more about this scholarship in Heath's name,
as well as, a long list of where Heath's final film IS being released.

This website is appreciated by the director Terry Gilliam and he goes there to read. He also, gives information to the administrator there. There are Dr Parnassus soundtracks exclusively made available at the website and other wonderful things, such as the film's posters from countries around the world.

Please, go there and support Heath's final film and his friend, Terry Gilliam.

Let Sony Pictures know, it is unfathomable that they will not release this Heath Ledger final film nationwide.

It is so silly that there is such a struggle to get this final film of Heath's released wide in the USA. Sometimes, we are just so dumb. It is embarrassing.

I didn't know Terry Gilliam gave up his USA citizenship ~ learned that on the live chat.

Apparently, Sony Pictures is waiting to see if there is enough interest in the USA to open this final film of Heath's . And Sony Pictures monitors interest on this grassroots support site for the film. At the live chat today, it was stated that comments left on the website in support of opening Doctor Parnassus wide in the USA are read by Sony Pictures. Also, at imdb

December 6-13, 2009, Los Angeles! Visit the Imaginariums of Terry Gilliam starting December 6, 2009 at 7:30 with a Sneak Preview of The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus at the historic Egyptian Theatre

Visionary director Terry Gilliam began his career as an animator. His unique body of work continues to be defined by an attention to aesthetic playfulness and experimentation, as well as a powerful awareness of the graphic potential of the image. His work first gained widespread acclaim while he was working as the only American-born member of Monty Python. It was with Python that he would evolve into a world-class feature-film director, starting with MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL (1975, co-directed with Terry Jones). Gilliam went on to create a series of fantastic spectacles characterized by striking imagery, bold characterizations, and a strong mistrust of authority in films such as TIME BANDITS (1981), BRAZIL (1985), and TWELVE MONKEYS (1995), to name a few. Whether it’s conveying the inner state of a drug-addled but brilliant journalist (FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, 1998) or the angst of a self-loathing shock jock (THE FISHER KING, 1991), Terry Gilliam is a master of using the visual to express the emotional – perhaps a residual effect of his eye for animation.

Join the Egyptian for a selection of Gilliam’s best-loved films, along with a sneak preview of his latest masterpiece, THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS, Heath Ledger’s final film.

Sunday, December 6 – 7:30 PM

Sneak Preview! THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS, 2009, Sony Pictures Classics, 122 min. Terry Gilliam reteams with his BROTHERS GRIMM star Heath Ledger for this, the actor’s final film. Christopher Plummer plays the film’s title character, the impresario behind a traveling theatrical company that offers its customers the chance to use a magical mirror to go beyond reality. When the devil, with whom Parnassus once struck a deal, comes around to collect, the company and an enigmatic outsider (played at alternate points by Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell) join forces to save Parnassus’ daughter (Lily Cole).

Heath Ledger As "Tony"

Source: News.com.au

A STAR-studded gathering will meet in Hollywood next month to watch Heath Ledger’s final film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

The three actors who stepped in to finish the movie after Ledger’s death in 2008, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Colin Farrell, are on the guest list for the screening at the Montablan Theatre on December 8.

The film’s other stars, Vern Troyer, Tom Waits and Lily Cole, have also been invited.

There is also likely to be plenty of Australian A-List stars at the screening as the night is being hosted by LA-based organisation, Australians in Film, to support the 2010 Heath Ledger Scholarship.

The scholarship is designed to help a young Australian actor break into Hollywood.

The scholarship, in its second year, is supported by the Ledger family, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Baz Luhrmann, Phil Noyce, Rachel Griffiths, Gregor Jordan and Michelle Williams.

Our site will be attending this event in support of the Heath Ledger Scholarship and The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus.

and read more about this scholarship in Heath's name and leave a comment to support USA nationwide release of Doctor Parnassus by Sony Pictures.

Don't let us be left out of being able to see Heath's final film in our local theatres.

Contact your local theaters
and ask them what they are doing
about getting The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
in the theatre.
Or tell them how important it is to you that they get it.

Here is my local theatre that gets these types of films:
The Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center
49 Touro St
Newport, RI
401-846-5252

If you live near me, call them
or use their "Suggestion Box" form on their website:
www.janepickens.com

My message that I put in the Suggestion Box tonight:

Director Terry Gilliam was shooting Heath Ledger's final film when he died. The film - The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is being released in Europe now. And in NYC and LA, but Sony Pictures is not sure if they will release it nationwide. For those of us who are Heath Ledger fans, we want it in our local theatres. Here is a grassroots support site for the film http://www.imaginariumofdrparnassus.com/

Sony Pictures is watching this site and Terry Gilliam is so appreciative of the grassroots efforts by the people there, that he is giving exclusive information to the administrator there, Theresa.

I am asking you to please consider getting this final film of Heath Ledger at the Pickens Theatre. Ask Sony Pictures for it.

Don't make us wait for the DVD.

Hello everyone,

December 12, 2009 is going to be a huge day for The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus in the USA. We, the fans are going to be hitting the streets to spread the word and raise public awareness of the film. We have groups who will be hitting the streets in Los Angeles, New York City, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Maine and two separate college campuses, one being Princeton and the other being a wonderful college in Orange County California. Read more here

Three part interview posted on youtube is found below. I have been relistening to these wonderful youtube videos. Just to hear Heath's voice gives moments of gratitude, but what he says and how he says it is very warming and revealing. And to think it was January 22, 2008 when he died and this interview was done December 3, 2007 - 50 days after this interview and Heath was gone. Listen and you'll be moved and touched by it.

I have posted these probably twice before. This interview is a favorite of mine. If you listen, you'll understand why.

Davis Cup ~ Rafa News

Rafa defeated Tomas Bercych 7-5, 6-0, 6-2
in the Spain vs. Czech Republic Davis Cup Final
This was Rafa's 400th win.

This means Spain won the Davis Cup Final. There are two more singles rubbers (matches) that are not necessary to play because the Final has been decided.

However, Rafa apparently is playing his "dead" rubber on Sunday, December 6 anyway. And apparently so is David Ferrer.
