PROFESSIONAL TENNIS DESERVES MORE RESPECT

One of my favorite pictures of Rafael Nadal.

Practice court prior to Indian Wells 08 Semi-Finals

Rafa Nadal and James Blake Indian Wells 08

Rafael Nadal
Rafael Nadal was victorious over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and James Blake at Indian Wells who have in the past been victorious over Rafa on hard court. But today, Novak Djokovic in the heat of 88 degrees, Rafa didn't have one of his good days. Tennis has a challenge of hard courts, grass courts and clay courts. A little tricky.

Chasing down tennis on TV
After the frustration of trying to see Rafael Nadal play in Beijing, China, Melbourne, Australia, Rotterdam, Holland and Indian Wells, California, I may try this solution:

Professional tennis can be seen online for $69.96 annually at
ATP Tennis Master Series TV
Here's what you get:
  • Live video stream
  • Match Highlights
  • Extensive video archive
  • Exclusive behind the scenes footage
Live streaming from Indian Wells continues with the finals on Sunday, March 23, 2008, at
12:00 for the match of Ana Ivanovic v Svetlana Kuznetsova
and Mardy Fish v Novak Djokovic not before 2:00 p.m. PST
Just add 3 hours for the east coast of USA.

If you want to watch it for free, try TVUnetworks or Fox Sports. The only trouble is Fox Sports this week has only scheduled two hours for matches and just when a third set is beginning, Fox Sports left the tennis matches and went to shows about repairing boats or funny sports moments. Very infuriating. This would be like leaving the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees game at the 8th inning. Do you think that would be done?

This is very nice...
