IS THAT HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO STOP THE DARFUR GENOCIDE?
Imagine a world with no genocide. What would it take to have that? It won't happen without you and me committing to the expectation that it can be that way. And it can. We can do what we can do. Or we can choose apathy. We can cave in to the thought that there's nothing we can do.
Here Is The Truth
YouCAN do something! What you do or do not do will be the difference for this genocide. We the People have the means to do something to be the difference this time, this genocide. This is the first genocide not only of the 21st century, but the first genocide with the internet to help us network, work together as We The People of the Planet and stop this madness. And it is entirely madness.Madness by those perpetrating the genocide and madness by those who say they can’t do anything and madness by those in leadership positions and just let it go on and on and on and on.This is chosen madness. The question remains: Who are we?How do we define who we are?In this case, apathy, ineffectiveness, complicity, silence - define us. We aren’t who we SAY we are.We are what we do about it.How we respond to tragedy defines us.
Are you okay with genocide as long as it is happening to someone else, in some other place?
There was a positive thing happen July 31st, regarding the Darfur genocide on the Darfuri people, recently with the United Nations. But that is because of people like you and me who are doing what we can do to make it clear we will not stand for genocide.Genocide Stops With Us.If it weren’t for activists who are putting the pressure on the so-called leaders of the world, the genocide on the Darfuri families would be ignored completely.I am convinced of that. But the pressure must continue. Because over and over we thought we had taken a step forward only to have it go absolutely nowhere positive. In fact it has gotten worse some of those very times. Bashir repeatedly agrees to troops then withdraws his acceptance. So much so, that it is impossible to believe him when he speaks. When you can't believe someone when they talk, your strategy must have more safeguards in place and the utmost clarity in the plan.
Turning your back on someone who needs you is nothing less than abuse, neglect and speaks for you. We can pretend to be or we can simply be. One of those things feels so much better than the other. Okay, off my soapbox.

Here are websites that have clear things you can do:
from AegisTrust 2,500,000 people displaced. 350,000 ... more iAnd this is a quote from its Youtube page: “2,500,000 people displaced. 350,000 people killed. 3,200 villages destroyed. 5 UN resolutions. We must act now because: tomorrow is too late.”
I watched the videos. Imagine what we could do if our federal government was commited to helping out humanity instead of contibuting to genocide - both by our actions in Iraq AND our inaction in Darfur. How could ANYONE in this country have voted for Bush and his ilk...TWICE!
I love my life. I love where I live. And I am passionate about my passions. I love to dance. Necessary to live: music, piano, singing, writing, acting, painting.
I have been fighting for and supporting the arts all my adult life. Since 2004, I have been working with other activists to end the Darfur genocide.
I have traveled to Europe many times since my early twenties. Places I have been: many USA states including Hawaii, Montreal, Canada, Barbados, France, Spain, Luxembourg, England, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Germany - and have wonderful memories.
My last trip was in May - June 2013 to Spain.
I would like to travel to Europe and Kyoto, Japan.
I love the southwest where I have visited Hopi, Navajo, Zia and San Idlefonso potters.
Life is exciting and I intend to live it full-out to the end.
B.S. and M.M., both in music
Genocide is not only a word,
it is crying of the whole human race.
There is nothing redeeming about being silent
when speaking up is the humane thing to do.
The honor and integrity of the human race is at stake.
