WHAT: Mayor Nutter will welcome Academy Award Winner Jamie Foxx, Gerard Butler, and Director F. Gary Gray to Philadelphia to shoot Law Abiding Citizen. Mayor Nutter will present the cast and crew with a Liberty Bell, the official gift from the City of Philadelphia.

Celebs flock to Washington to attend pre-inaugural balls

Gerard Butler wanted so much to be part of the celebration of change, he flew to Washington at the last minute to attend the party and soak in some of the excitement. Butler says he's scheduled to start working on a new film on Tuesday (January 20), which is inauguration day, but he couldn't miss the once in a lifetime opportunity.

Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler are in town to film "Law Abiding Citizen," a psychological thriller the Hollywood trades say focuses on an assistant district attorney and a vigilante plot set into motion by a victim of the legal system. Through Friday morning, the City Hall court yard, will be closed and access to the Septa subway stairs will be also shut down.

Crew members from "Law Abiding Citizen" yesterday were tricking out a City Hall Cabinet room near Mayor Nutter's office on the 2nd floor to prepare for a shoot that's expected there today. Jamie Foxx, who was in Washington yesterday for the inauguration of President Obama, will be part of the City Hall filming. He plays an assistant district attorney in the thriller directed by F. Gary Gray. Foxx's co-star Gerard Butler, who must be studlier than we thought based on the amount of e-mail we've gotten from local women who want to know his whereabouts, is not part of today's City Hall shooting.
