I love the scene where she is riding on the bus and admitting to Thelma, that the boy that she loved is not the one she married. It is so poignant. And Geraldine Page is beyond-words-wonderful in this movie. It was just aired on Cable TV recently.

Geraldine Page FINALLY won a Best Actress Oscar after 8 previous nominations. Co-nominees Anne Bancroft, Whoopi Goldberg, Jessica Lange and Meryl Streep stood up and cheered while Geraldine tried to find her shoes that she had taken off earlier in the evening at the Academy Awards ceremony. Written by two-time Oscar-winning screenwriter Horton Foote ("To Kill a Mockingbird", "Tender Mercies"). Directed by Peter Masterson.
