You Send Me sung by Sam Cooke

I have always loved to sing. It's better than listening to someone else do it. Something connects when I sing. It is a spiritual thing. It makes me more alive.

  1. Some music stands the test of time. Some singers stand the test of time. Sam Cooke is one of those singers whose music stands the test of time.

Thank you for sharing one of your favorite singers with those who may not have known how truly special he was.

  2. Erik,

I am so thrilled you stopped by and left this wonderful comment. As ilovemylife, I have posted this same post over at Zimbio.com and created a "wikizine" Sam Cooke with the following description:
Soul and gospel singer, composer and legendary ~ Sam Cooke was murdered in December 1964 and only lived to be 33. Unlike many artists who have come and gone, Sam Cooke has managed to withstand the test of time. A comment was left on a post of mine about singing and noting that Sam Cooke is one of my favorite singers. The comment was by Erik Greene, a grand nephew of Sam Cooke. Website for Sam Cooke http://www.ourunclesam.com/home.html
About the picture uploaded here at Zimbio: Maya N. Escobar painted this portrait of Sam on the back cover of Mr. Greene's book about Sam Cooke "Our Uncle Sam". If you haven't heard Sam sing, check him out at Youtube and then buy one of his CD's. You'll become a fan.

I hope that is okay. If not, let me know and I'll edit it.

    Your website is wonderful.
