OPTIMISM WITH HIS BODY’S REACTIONS - IS RAFAEL NADAL’S HOPE IN SHANGHAI

Optimism by Rafa and his doctor is what Nadal is banking on to play on Sunday in Shanghai, China. I am metaphorically holding my breath. Do what is best Rafa. We know you have a fighter in you. We know you have the heart of a tiger and a teady bear all at once. Be well.

Nadal evolves favorably of a contracture
Mallorcadiario

SHANGHAI (CHINA)

The Mallorcan Rafael Nadal evolves favorably after suffering a small contracture and the resulting inflammation of the left quadriceps, while training to debut against French Richard Gasquet in Shanghai this coming Sunday. The Shanghai Masters Cup is very important for the Balearic and a complicated tournament involving the best eight players of the tennis circuit. Angel Ruiz Cotorro, doctor of the Spanish Tennis Federation, said that "Rafa told me that it is already well," said the doctor from Barcelona, Spain.

"Rafa suffered a small contracture in his first training on Thursday, the result mainly of fatigue from the 16-hour trip from Spain, but it is much better today and has trained normally," said Cotorro. "In theory, with 24 hours of rest and treatment, we have optimism, and Sunday Rafa will almost certainly play," he added. For Nadal’s situation, we have recommended anti-inflammatory, relaxation and stretching, which meets the physiotherapist Rafael Maymó’s recommendation. Fortunately, the shock appears to have been overcome. Despite optimistic statements of Cotorro, maybe this will be a small disadvantage to Majorcan Rafa Nadal with this injury in his first game against Gasquet.

I used the Google translation tool http://www.google.com/translate
to translate the article into English (above) that I found in Spanish (below all other sections of this post). I took minor liberties with adjusting sentences that were’t making sense with the automatic translating tool by google. The intent is to express what I thought was meant to be communicated.

A Wild and Weird Season Comes Down to the Big 8

ATP Masters Shanghai Special Report

The entire article can be found at this link:

The first two paragraphs are here:

It has been a weird year for tennis and a rotten year for the round robin, which was introduced in men's tour events and then quickly jettisoned after problems with the math and the meaning.

But there is still the Masters Cup, a round-robin tournament that has worked for nearly 40 years and has worked well enough that the women have copied it for their year-end extravaganza, which finishes Sunday in Madrid.

Nadal evoluciona favorablemente de una contractura
mallorcadiario
